The eighth conference on the history of the humanities, ‘The Making of the Humanities VIII’, will take place at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, from 21-23 November 2019.

Participants are advised to make early hotel reservations. We have not prebooked rooms anywhere but here is a list of accommodations we can recommend. Other accommodation options can be explored via booking.com or airbnb.com.
Registration:
Registration for the MOH-VIII conference consists of two steps.
First you need to become a member of the Society for the History of the Humanities ($30 for students and $60 for regular members, annual rate). If you are not yet a member, click here to go to the membership page.
Second you need to register specifically for the conference by filling out the form through this link and following the payment procedure. This fee includes all coffee/tea breaks, all lunches and the welcome reception.
To support and encourage attendance to this year’s conference the conference fee, as well as the membership registration, is waived for participants coming from African and South American countries.
